So I've been playing RCT2 for years, and it's kind of looking like my game won't work on my computer any more. I was looking at some alternatives for coaster gaming. I already have RCT3, and it hasn't worked out too well, and I'm kind of reluctant to try it again with all the game crashing you hear about. I looked into No Limits and it looks like kind of a cool simulator. Can anyone give me any reviews or advice on the game to help me decide if I should purchase it?

YES. It takes a lot longer to make coasters, but they end up looking a lot better. It's a lot more complex, too. Once you get the hang of it, it'll be pretty easy.
CoasterSims.com used to be the No Limits supercenter, but it recently closed, so now the new big site is NoLimits-Exchange (http://nolimits-exchange.com/). Take a look around it.
I really recommend getting NL. It's only, what, $30 or so? No Limits 2 should be out within the next 2 years or so, and NL2 looks amazing.

^I've seen some recreations that look like concept art on TPR. I never doubted the game's potential, I was just curious if there were any down-sides.
On the coaster simulator, do people actually board and ride your coaster, or does it just simulate the ride?

Nope, it only simulates the ride. You can be the op and unlock/lock trains, airgates, dispatch, E-Stop, etc., but you can't have people ride.
As for down-sides, very few (IMO). The biggest one would probably be the length of time it takes to make a coaster. Other than that, there aren't many bad things about it.

That part sounded kinda fun. haha I've always wanted to be a ride op. I wish RCT had that feature though.

I'm in the minority that doesn't really like No Limits. I got it in I think March of 2009, and after a couple months of making crappy coasters in one hour, I got bored of it. Since then, I've only touched the game to simulate other peoples' rides (which is fun to do) and a couple of exceptions to try and build something...but I get bored very quickly.
If you like that kind of stuff and you're dedicated to the game, you'll really like it. It's just too complex for me. I like it nice and simple, like RCT2. It is also something that's really fun and cool to be good at it, but it takes a while. Unfortunately, I don't have the attention span to get to that level.
I also currently don't have the game as everything got erased from my computer about a month ago. I'm going to try emailing them to get it back though.

Its different. I can make some small scale rides, that are actually nice but I pretty much suck at them haha. I did get the game for free tho so if anyone needs it, you know who to ask.

Would anyone be able to post a screenshot of the "ride operator" mode? That was pretty much the only feature that wasn't in the demo. Thanks.

It's not really a "mode", but if you go into free-camera mode, then certain keys (I forget which) control the airgates, restraints, e-stop, etc.

After playing around on the demo for a while and seeing the stuff posted on TPR, I think I'm sold on this game. It looks pretty neat, kind of like a RCT3 that works.
