BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - September 27, 1990
Just west of Baton Rouge, over 200 acres of land just went on the market. Located right off Interstate-10 outside of Ithra, it's only about a 15 minute drive from downtown Baton Rouge. Residents of Ithra have heard rumors that an unknown company will be purchasing the land for sale. We do not have any proof of this rumor, but we will be following this story as it progresses.

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - December 9, 1990
The unknown theme park west Baton Rouge near Ithra has been constucting the new park. The park officals told the state and city not to tell anybody about the park until 1992. The park only told us that they will have four roller coasters and lots of family attractions. So Stay Tune for more information.

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - March 15, 1992
Two years ago in September we told you about land for sale west of Baton Rouge near Ithra. Earlier this week a company known as "Paramount Parks a Viacom Company" purchased the 200 acre plot of land. Paramount Parks has yet to make an announcement, but they did say to us that the land is for an amusement park. They also said they plan on making an official announcement next couple of days.

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - March 20, 1992
Paramount Parks a Viacom Company, who recently bought a 200+ acre plot of land near Ithra off I-70 announced a press released about the planned amusement park. We are not allowed to copy the announcement onto the paper, but they said we are finishing the small deatils and they expect the amusement park to open in April 1st of 1976. The large park has given a name "Paramount's Great Adventure", and they did say they plan on opening it with four roller coasters.

In the game, it is called a Corkscrew Roller Coaster. In real life, it's a Vekoma Boomerang.

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - September 6, 1992

We sent a reporter to the park to get more information of whats going on. He told us he got a backstage tour of the expansion and they have started painting the coaster. They told him there will be bumber cars and they are about to start construction to get a building over the ride. They say wait until September 15th to get the press release and the information on the 2 other rides thats coming next year also. Here is a picture he took of the painting of the coaster.
