Most sites have a place where you can introduce yourself to get to know a little more about your fellow members, so here is ours!
Hi, I'm Michael, and I'm 14. This is my 8th year being a season pass holder at Six Flags, and I want to be able to ride roller coasters for a long time. I used to be able to see SFFT from my bedroom window, but then I moved to the boring southeast, and every trip to Six Flags has to be a big deal.
I play the trumpet, and got 1st chair in a state competition. My family moves a lot, so right now i'm hoping we can move back to a city with a Six Flags park so I can hopefully get paid to work in one of my favorite places.
I'll see everyone around the site, and PM me if you want to talk about anything coaster-related. I've been to most Six Flags Parks, so I can help with advice and trip planning.
I've been working with Austin a little bit on this site, mainly editing, and I'm excited to be a part of this project, now as a SUPER Moderator. If anyone has a question about the site, or site rules; don't be afraid to send me a PM. I'll probably be able to help you.
Hey guys, I'm Daniel. Some of you might know me from TPR, CoasterBuzz, Coaster-net, or BrandonsCoasters...but if not, let me tell you a little bit about myself.
I'm both an academic and athletic guy. I'll be a sophomore in highschool when I go back next week, and I play basketball and golf. I work at the local pool as a gatekeeper, and am getting certified to be a lifeguard next spring.
I live right in between SFKK, Holiday World, and Beech Bend---all being about an hour away. I buy a season pass to Six Flags every year, and get tickets through my family's radio station (WXBC, 104.3 FM) for the other two. I love each of the parks, and am pretty knowledgeable on all of them.
I'm so glad someone FINALLY started a SFKK fansite!

Names Chris. I'm 13 years old. I'm apart of the GADV online group with Nitrofan. I live in New Jersey, which is not even close to Kentucky. I hate to tell you guys but i prefer SFGAdv because it has a lot more coasters than SFKK. But yet i can be caught in the moment. I have a season pass, so i go to SFGAdv plenty of times. I can't wait to learn a bit more about SFKK.

Hello. I'm Sfguy, member of Gadv online.
Nitrofan brainwashed me into coming here, and now I've already beaten the Simon high score.
I've never been to SFKK, but ever since RCT2 came out and I saw a picture of Chang in the instruction booklet, I've been fascinated with it. Not so much now, but whatever.

Hello everyone my name is Richard. I worked at SFKK for the 2000-2004 seasons. First year I worked there I worked on "Twisted Sisters" later renamed, Twisted Twins. My last four seasons were spent on the Skycoaster, Hellavator, and every other ride, on the original side of the park.
I miss working there sometimes, meet some really cool people, and other times I wondered why I wanted to deal with a bunch of teenagers. I'm 41 now, so do the math. I was one of the "Site Controller's" the first year we had the Skycoaster, and every year after, love that experience.
So if anyone on here worked in those areas, at the time, hit me up.

^^Well, when i get the age limit, i'm going to try to get a job at my local Six Flags (Great Adventure). How is it feel to work on rides? Any advantages? Disadvantages?

I'm pretty sure that you can work in Merchandise, Food, and Admissions at 15 at GADV, but you have to be 16 to work in rides. Just something to think about.

Well, i'll be 14 in March, so a year and half till i can work food/merchandise/etc, and 2 years and half years till i can work rides. So there's a chance i'll try for it.

Since I haven't introduced myself yet, now seems as good a time as any. I'm Mike. I'm 30 years old, am married with a stepdaughter who is 5. My wife isn't crazy about my amusement park addiction. Not many wives are. Anyways, the only thing I've ever ridden that I didn't like was the Powersurge, but all bets are off other than that.
My wife is scared to ride things with me, so if she and I go to a park, I end up riding things by myself usually. Maggie my stepdaughter is excited about riding things with me but she isn't tall enough yet to ride the really good stuff. So next year hopefully.
This season was the first season I've gotten to go to any parks in almost 10 years, and so much has changed. The last time I went to Kentucky Kingdom before this year was when the Twisted Twins were new. The lines were LONG, if you can believe it.
I haven't been to many parks, but next year I'm planning a few major trips. Hopefully I don't end up divorced over it.
It's cool that most of the people here are younger than I am, especially since everybody really knows their stuff. In my brain I'm only about 8 years old anyways...
This is a great site, thanks to all involved.

Marcus here. I just found this site, explored it a little, and had to join since SFKK is my home park; that and me being 20-30 min. away from the park. I hate to know that I am the 114th member on this site, so I don't get to have a cookie... or a badge! As you can see my favorite character on Looney Tunes is "Wile E. Coyote". (SkyCoaster represents him a little better than Road Runner Express.). I am 15 but have been in Kentucky longer than I can remember. Unfortunately I don't go to Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom enough since I can't drive at all.
I think I'm on the lucky side of life (except for school). I got to vacation in places Not many people have been to. Nassau Bahamas, Cancun Mexico, Dubai United Arab Emirates, and those are the only international places I have ever been to.
Edit: Never mind about the badge thing, I finally got one for being a founder!

Hey, I'm David. I live in California and visited SFKK for the first time last June. To be honest, it wasn't one of my favorite parks (and as you can tell, I didn't like Chang either; I'm just not a fan of stand up coasters in general.) Deluge, on the other hand, made the trip to SFKK worth it.

The park had terrible ride operations. It could have just been the day I went (Father's Day, June 21st) but I was definitely not impressed. Everything ran one train, including Chang, which is pretty ridiculous on a crowded day like it was. The ferris wheel didn't even run half of its cars. The area over by Thunder Run was very odd; all boarded up. I know that that's because of the whole Twisted Twins/Mile High Falls area, but to a regular guest that could seem really weird.
Speaking of T2, ugh...one of my least favorite coasters ever. It definitely is Terror To The Second Power.

Yep. SFMM is my home Six Flags park, about 90 minutes away. SFDK is my favorite Six Flags park, though.

Lol sorry about that. T2 however was under refurbishment at the time. Which explains the 1 train op. One was sent out to be refurbished and then when it came back train 2 was sent and etc. Thunder run is the new worst ride there tho.
Btw the tip for riding vekoma SLC's is to squeeze your thighs at against the horn int he middle of the seat. Reduces how hard you slam into it (if your a guy you know what I mean).
The ferris wheel though I dont think is allowed to run most of their cars due to weight problems. It usually operates about 1/4 which is pretty good.

Thunder Run was probably my second favorite coaster in the park. It's a nice wooden coaster; not great but not bad. Nice air on the first hill after the turnaround.

I don't know...I've ridden Kong at SFDK a few times also (in different seats and seasons) and I just haven't gotten a good ride on an SLC.

Seriously? I've never heard of something like that before, but if true, then what's the point of a big ferris wheel? To look cool?
I could be wrong, but I think Cedar Point ran most of, if not all of the cars on their big ferris wheel.

Trust me on Thunder run lol. Its really bad. They do small track replacements every year and it goes from smooth to rough then smooth then rough. But if your riding for your first 2-5 times you might not notice but its annoying lol.
I think they might only do that on the wheel because the park is leasing it from vekoma. I just know it has to do with weight. A guy on the site just went to Six Flags Mexico and he said it was probably the best SLC he's ridden. To be honest though, for the best ride on the vekoma's you have to meet certain criteria lol. Weight: between 180-200+(Wont move as much) Height: Smaller means your going to get thrown around a bit more. Im 230 and 6 ft 2 and I seem to be the only person who loves T2 lol.

Seriously? Why would you build a ferris wheel that big if you can't use most of it?
